A programmable self contained distillation unit featuring digital process control and automated data collection. Up to 10 distillation programs, comprising temperature/time profiles and volume setpoints, can be stored in the on-board memory. The programs can be created or modified during use via a ‘learn’ feature.

The ORBIS SIMDIST analyzer complies fully with ASTM D2887, ASTM D7169, ASTM 7096 and data correlation to physical distillation methods such as ASTM D86. Other properties which will be capable of being determined are:

- Gasoline in engine oil (ASTM D3525)
- Flash point (ASTM D56, D93, D3834) correlation from SIMDIST data
- Oil in water (hydrocarbon oil index) (ISO 9377-2)
- Engine oil volatility (ASTM D6417)

The gas chromatograph (GC) of the ORBIS SIMDIST analyzer is very versatile providing ease of operation. Considering its compact dimensions, the oven is extremely spacious and easily accessible. All parameters are controlled by the supplied computer and software thereby guaranteeing total accuracy and repeatability of time and temperatures.

The ORBIS SIMDIST control monitor will be delivered with all the necessary software preinstalled such as Windows XP, Windows Excel, DDS Clarity advanced chromatography software package and the ORBIS SIMDIST software package. A network cable connects the ORBIS SIMDIST control monitor to the ORBIS SIMDIST analyzer.

The ORBIS autosampler, situated on top of the chromatograph, accommodates 24 2 mL sample vials, 2 bottles for cleaning solutions and 1 waste bottle. The ORBIS autosampler is automatically controlled by the gas chromatograph by Touch Screen interface or the ORBIS SIMDIST control monitor.

The complete ORBIS SIMDIST analyser package includes the ORBIS SIMDIST master GC, the ORBIS SIMDIST control monitor and the ORBIS autosampler.
