OmniTek was founded in 1979 by William Wagelaar and started
out as a scientific glassblowing company : Wagelaar
Glasinstrumenten (literally Wagelaar Glass Instruments). As
a highly skilled glasblower, with many years of experience
gained within both industrial and university surroundings,
he set out to provide sophisticated and specialized
scientific glassware to laboratories and research facilities
in The Netherlands and abroad. During the eighties, the
company's size and reputation as a problem solver and
supplier of quality instruments rapidly grew. Our close
contact with our customers enabled us to provide many
custom-made solutions to individual problems.
With a keen interest in
automation and advanced measuring techniques, we always
strived to supply our customers with the latest in
technology. Halfway through the nineties, our
ever-increasing expertise in the field of analysis
techniques and automation led to a gradual shift toward the
development and production of advanced, fully automated
measuring equipment. Targeting specific niches in the
market, such as the plastics and petrochemical industries,
this branch of the firm became more and more significant to
the company as a whole.
Over
the course of the past decade, two strong product lines have
emerged from our continuous effort to provide the industry
with smart and innovative measuring solutions : our
moisture analysers for plastics and
viscometry systems for mineral oils both offer unique
advantages to their users, that sets them apart from the
competition entirely. The instruments we offer have all been
developed from a direct need in the market. Our main
objective is to provide our customers with the instrument
they really need, in stead of the instrument we may think
they need !

Automatic
Viscosity Analyzer
of used oil
Applications
-
Machine Condition Based Monitoring
-
Quality Control
Description
The
S-flow® is a bench-top
automatic kinematic temperature bath viscometer
optimized for the analysis of used and new
lubricants. It conforms to the requirements in
ASTM D445, D446, D7279, IP 71 and ISO 3104. It
is also the ideal system for used oil analysis
laboratories that need to test a wide range of
lubricant viscosities.
The
S-flow®
is a self-contained viscometer system that
consists of a thermostatic bath with circular
heater and a control column. The bath contains 4
patented viscometer tubes together with optical
sensors to detect the flow of oil through the
tubes. All measuring tubes function
independently of each other. The control column
has an LCD display that provides the user with
information about the system’s status and an
array of LED’s indicate the current status of
each measuring tube. An optional external
computer can also be used to control the system
for applications where more extensive data
handling requirements are necessary.
The user of the
S-flow®
has the option to operate in two modes, standard
viscosity determinations or measuring tube
calibration. In both modes, the user chooses how
many determinations have to be made for an
average result. The operator also controls
additional parameters such as tube constants,
and cleaning cycle.
