C2V's revolutionary micro GC (Gas Chromatograph) technology creates unique opportunities for fast volatile detection at any location. C2V offers a fast micro GC gas analyzer module and it can be ordered as a standard single instrument (the C2V-200), but we can also supply customized lower cost OEM modules in higher volumes.

The fast GC is a chip-based instrument with an integrated TCD (Thermal Conductivity Detector). A tiny and easy exchangeable GC cartridge (60*100*12.5 mm) contains injector, detector, column and heating capability up to 180°C. Miniaturized hardware, low thermal mass, extremely accurate micro liter peak injection and short columns enable fast accurate detection while lowering costs. All internal component connections are realized without capillaries. The injector consists of pneumatically actuated on-chip integrated valves, with ultra low gas consumption. Almost all standard capillary columns can be applied. C2V’s micro TCD has a ppm sensitivity and a sub-milliseconds response time.

C2V focuses on natural gas, oil and process applications, e.g., a BTU analysis is done in less than 20 seconds. Future activities are fast handheld gas analysis in environmental, medical and security applications. In addition, the micro GC also can be connected directly to an external detector.

C2V-200 micro GC


The C2V-200 micro GC is a tested versatile engineering prototype of a 1-channel GC module (84*124*60 mm), with an exchangeable column cartridge (60*100*12.5 mm). The C2V-200 can be purchased and is delivered with power line adaptor, user manual, and software CD. To run the C2V-200, external pressure (control), power, carrier gas, sampling and a PC is required. The stainless steel package has standard VICI 1/16" connectors and requires a conditioned sample and carrier flow. The column can be heated up to 180°C and a ppm level detection limit is achieved. C2V also offers customized engineering and testing services to develop applications.

The column cartridge (60*100*12.5 mm) for the C2V-200 micro GC contains 1 GC channel with column, injector, TCD detector, and heating capability up to 180°C. Cartridges can easily be exchanged. Standard cartridge types are:

GCC1000 (100% PolyDiMethylSiloxane column) separation is almost entirely based on boiling points making this cartridge suitable for a wide range of applications with a broad temperature range. Typical components analyzed with the GCC1000 include: Alcohols, aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, flavors and aromas, free fatty acids, glycols, halogenated hydrocarbons, hydrocarbons, ketones, oxygenates, solvents, sulfur compounds.

GCC1010 (Divinylbenzene type U PLOT column) elutes polar compounds as symmetrical peaks, allowing them to be analyzed together with light hydrocarbons or permanent gases. Retention times are repeatable, as the retention is not influenced by water in the sample. Typical components analyzed with the GCC1010 include: permanent gases, CO2, halogenated compounds, hydrocarbons C1-C6, H2S, ketones, oxygenated hydrocarbons and solvents

GCC1020 (WAX PEG column) has a polyethylene glycol (PEG) phase and typical components analyzed include: BTEX, methanol, alcohols, aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, halogenated compounds, ketones and solvents.
 

GCC1030 (Molecular Sieve 5A PLOT) is especially valuable when separating permanent gases. Typical gasses separateded with the GCC1030 include: He, H2, O2, CO, Ne, N2, Ar, CH4, Kr, Xe.
